Spain ranks 17th in GCI 2017
Its most impressive improvement comes from the rapid growth in broadband assessment comprehensively. Scores jump from the average-level from last year to an outstanding performance, especially in its mobile broadband penetration rate. Meanwhile, the affordability for the fixed broadband and the digitalization of public services remains high for Spain. These improvements are in the context of the adoption of “Digital Agenda for Spain” in 2013.

Spain is on the way to have its 5G network. The current 4G has the latency, not capable of providing real time response to the users. The introduction of 5G could accelerate Spain’s development in download speed and expansion of online contents.
