Huawei and Portugal Telecom strengthen strategic partnership with the signature of a cooperation agreement
[Shenzhen, China, September 29th, 2009] Huawei Technologies (“Huawei”), a leading company in providing next generation telecommunication network solutions to operators around the world, announced today the signature of an agreement with Portugal Telecom for the development of the cooperation in the areas of convergent networks, service platforms, applications & services and terminal equipments.
Since 2005, PT and Huawei have successfully collaborated, namely on implementing 2G & 3G networks, CS & PS core network, wireless broadband terminals and providing leading optical and wireless access technologies.
This agreement will allow Huawei and Portugal Telecom to enhance the long term business relationship and increase ongoing technical developments.
"This important agreement will reinforce the relations between our companies and will allow Portugal Telecom end users to receive the best technologies, services and solutions focused in their needs” said Mr. Zeinal Bava, CEO of PT Group.
Mr. Xie Xinping, Managind Director of Huawei Technologies in Portugal, explained that “Huawei considers Portugal Telecom as a very important strategic partner and it’s proud to sign this agreement, assuming full commitment to support PT in the global market, share business visions and providing the most advanced solutions”.
