Huawei Wins Thailand Prime Minister Award: National Startup 2018

[Bangkok, Thailand, May 17, 2018] Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has received the Prime Minister Award: National Startup 2018 in the “Corporate Contributor of the Year” category. The award, given during the Startup Thailand event, recognizes Huawei Thailand for its outstanding support and contribution to startups that launch innovations in the local business scene.

Mr. James Wu, President of Huawei Southeast Asia, accepts the “PM Award: National Startup 2018” from Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister, during the Startup Thailand event. Also present were Clin. Prof. Dr. Udom Kachinthorn，Deputy Education Minister (left); Dr. Suvit Maesincee (2nd left), Minister of Science and Technology, Police General Adul Sangsingkeo (2nd right), Minister of Labor and Mrs. Atchaka Sibunruang (right), Chairman of The Board, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

Mr. James Wu, President of Huawei Southeast Asia, accepted the award from Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister, in the presence of Dr. Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology; Pol. Gen. Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor; Clin. Prof. Dr. Udom Kachinthorn, Deputy Education Minister and Mrs. Atchaka Sibunruang, Chairman of The Board, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, during the award ceremony held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

Initiated in 2017 by the National Innovation Agency and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Prime Minister Award: National Startup 2018 recognizes the excellence and involvement of startups, companies and individuals in different businesses that show a strong potential for growth, trigger industry transformation and contribute toward the startup ecosystem.

The five categories for 2018 were: Startup of the Year, Global Tech Startup of the Year, Evangelist of the Year, Investor of the Year and Corporate Contributor of the Year.
