Huawei seeks to become the preferred ICT partner of Cyprus

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades visits the company's Shanghai Research Center

[Shanghai, October 19, 2015] Huawei Senior Vice President Guo Tianming recently met Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades at the company's Shanghai Research Center. The two parties discussed extensively the ICT development in Cyprus.

President Anastasiades commented, "I very much appreciate Huawei's important contributions to communications network construction in Cyprus. I'm also happy to see the ongoing cooperation between the quasi-government agency Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) and Huawei. The massive R&D spending by Huawei is very impressive, so is the 10,000-strong workforce at the Shanghai Research Center. We need to learn from you, especially regarding advanced scientific research and knowledge. In the meantime, I hope Huawei can provide constructive opinions about Cyprus' national ICT planning and forge deeper ties with our nation."

Guo Tianming remarked, "Thank you Mr. President and your government for supporting Huawei's development in your country. Huawei will keep introducing the latest ICT technologies and experience to Cyprus as we seek to become the preferred ICT partner for the Cypriot government and help you with national ICT planning."
