The first Huawei Central Asia Innovation Day was held on November 14 in Astana city, the capital of Kazakhstan. More than 150 representatives of industry and academia, government, analysts and representatives of the media were invited for joint discussion of prospects for the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) under the title "Explore the way to digital Silk Road", as well as the digital transformation problems. Huawei has also launched an initiative to create the best digital Silk Road through innovation, openness and mutual benefit.
In opening speech, Amy Lin, senior vice president of Huawei said, Maslow proposed the pyramid of human needs, a country in the digital transformation from low to high demand also can be divided into four levels. The first is ICT infrastructure, which is the foundation of a digital economy. The second is security, for both the physical and digital worlds. Security is necessary for further development. The third layer is developing a supportive environment for industries to go digital. Building on a solid foundation of privacy protection, the fourth and highest layer is enabling broader information sharing.
Amy Lin said, practice in many countries has proved that through the development of ICTs, innovation can be promoted and the vitality of economic development can be enhanced. In the future, Huawei hopes that all governments, industries and scientists will continue to cooperate freely with each other in order to contribute the development of a good ecosystem of ICT innovations, create an information-oriented country, realize the digital transformation of various industries and build the best digital Silk Road.
On the Day of Innovation, representatives of the government, regional telecommunications organizations, Roland Berger consulting company delivered keynote speeches on topics such as the relationship between ICT and economic growth, telecommunications regulatory policy adjustment and the agenda of the national digital economy. In the meantime, local enterprises in Kazakhstan shared exploration and innovation in the digital transformation of country and cities.

On the Day of Innovations in Central Asia, Huawei has also announced that the Global talent development project on ICT "Seeds for the future” will be launched in Kazakhstan in 2018.
