CDMA2000 Mobile IP Home Agent

A home agent (HA) implements the registration of mobile IP (MIP) and the transfer of mobile data in the packet network of a CDMA2000 system. Through tunneling, it transfers MIP data from the home network to the packet data service node (PDSN). It also transfers MIP data from the PDSN to the home network over the reverse tunnel. HA is a key device to the application of MIP. It provides an effective solution to the roaming and handoff of mobile data.
The application of MIP has just begun in the industry.
