Good voice quality

The UA5000 supports many coding and decoding protocols (such as G.711/G.723/G.729AB, CNG, VAD and JitterBuffer), and various voice quality technologies (such as EC and packet loss compensation).

Low dependence on bearer network

The UA5000 can keep network connections and services normal, as long as the packet loss rate is lower than 10%.

Diverse broadband interfaces

The UA5000 provides standard ADSL G.Lite/G.dmt/ADSL2+/VDSL/SHDSL interfaces for high-speed Internet surfing and leased line applications.

Excellent security mechanism

The UA5000 and Soft Switch are designed with H.248 gateway authentication function against network spoofing.

The UA5000, thanks to its unique hardware design, can prevent various malicious attacks, such as traffic overload, address spoofing and port scan.

The solution adopts comprehensive security mechanism for its external management interfaces. The UA5000 supports dual homing. With H.248/MGCP protocol, a UA5000 can register itself on two Soft Switches. When one Soft Switch becomes faulty, the UA5000 can automatically switch to the other one without affecting the ongoing services.

Inheriting the hardware technologies of the HONET series, the solution can adapt to various application environments.

Platform based software design and advantageous system expandability

The UA5000 integrates the technology platforms from both Huawei's DSLAM and HONET devices, and adopts CMM and IPD modes for device research and development. This not only prolongs the service time of a device version, but also accelerates the provisioning of new services.

High reliability

To provide carrier class reliability, the UA5000 adopts redundancy backup design for its main control board switching network module, clock module, service processing module and upstream interface board. It also provides a backup scheme for its POTS and xDSL ports, ensuring high system reliability.

Marvelous configuration/management/maintenance mechanisms

The UA5000 provides superb configuration/management/maintenance mechanisms, bringing great ease in device configuration, maintenance, upgrading and fault handling.

Integrated NMS platform

The solution adopts unified NMS for managing Huawei's serialized NGN components.

Serialized indoor and outdoor cabinets

To satisfy different requirements on access capacities (usually ranging 192–3968 lines), the UA5000 provides indoor cabinets (F02A and F02AF) and outdoor cabinets (F01D100, F01D200, F01D500 and F01D1000).

The indoor cabinet can be an integrated cabinet, which usually consists of built-in distribution frame, lightning protection unit, power module, batteries, temperature control module, and transmission device. This architecture can greatly facilitate onsite installation and networking.
