Global Applications

As a flagship product of IP Backbone Network in HUAWEI IPTime(IP Transport Infrastructure for Multi-play Experience) solution, NE5000E core routers, whose total shipment has been more than 1000 chassis, including over 40 set cluster system, have been deployed worldwide on large-scale and been serving leading operators all over the world, including China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, France Telecom, Sonaecom in Portugal and SingTel in Singapore.

HUAWEI has built tight cooperation with over 80 mainstream operators in IP backbone field and has become the best partner of leading operators of the world to help them to succeed in All-IP transform by June, 2009.

Authoritative Evaluation

To support the continued and rapid growth in internet and
business traffic, service providers are faced with the challenges to meet these bandwidth requirements while minimizing the complexity of their network infrastructures. Huawei' s ability to cluster multiple NE5000E routers to provide up to 10 Terabits of switching capacity and significantly expand port density provides a seamless approach to meeting these needs.

----Glen Hunt, Principal Analyst Carrier Infrastructure
  (Apr. 2008)

Huawei is in a very good position. I believe the product
is the best product (NE5000E) because of its smaller size, lower power consumption and lower cost... I believe that Huawei's continued success will propel it to the top position in market perception within the next three years.

----James Heath, Research Director Broadband (Apr. 2008)

Huawei NE5000E, Network Foundation in Ultra-broadband Era

Driven by bandwidth-rich applications such as mobile broadband, high-definition video (HDTV), enterprise video conference, IP traffic continues to grow rapidly. The latest report from the ABI shows that in the coming five years, the annual compound growth rate of the IP traffic will reach 50%, in which the growth rate accounts for 62% to the total growth rate. The report also shows that the growth rate of the broadband access for mobile networks reaches as high as 128%. All these facts indicate that the network has rapidly entering the ultra-broadband era.   [Full article]

Huawei End-to-End 100G Solution

The rapid growth of the network traffic accelerates the expansion of the forwarding capacity of the LPUs on the transmission devices (such as routers), from 1 Gbit/s, 2.5 Gbit/s, and 10 Gbit/s to 40 Gbit/s and 100 Gbit/s. A single device can provide a large capacity in the case that its LPUs support 100 Gbit/s forwarding capacities. In this situation, the operator's operation and maintenance cost are reduced and users can enjoy fast and effective remote communications. [Full article]

Grabbing a dominant position in data communications

— Dialogue with Tang Hong, Director of Data Communication Department, Guangdong Research Institute

The IP network traffic increases dramatically along with the fast development of services such as video conferencing, streaming, and peer-to-peer (P2P) services. As the network approaches swiftly to the ultra broadband era, more and more severe challenges are imposed to the network devices, and in particular, to the backbone network devices. A dialogue is conducted between a reporter of this publication and Tang Hong...

ISHE, Eases Seamlessly into Ultra-broadband Era

In Ultra-broadband era, with the remarkable increase of new services such as VoIP, HDTV and mobile, internet traffic grows much faster than that of single-chassis router processing capability. Single-chassis routers have physical restrictions in capacity, reliability and expansibility and have evidently been a focus of network expansion.

Opening A Green Channel for Full-Service Operation

Spring Festival is the most important and joyous holiday in China. During the Spring Festival, people go home and get together with family members, visit relatives and friends, pay holiday calls for each other, and wish each other a happy and lucky lunar new year. With the rapid spread of handsets, phones have now become a major means of communication for paying holiday calls between goods friends and close relatives.

Huawei Helps Beijing Netcom Build Multi-Service IP MAN for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

As China Netcom transforms quickly and the service type innovates incessantly, the existing network capacity and service capability of IP MAN of Beijing Netcom will become the bottleneck for its development by 2006. In this case, Beijing Netcom is urgent to expand and optimize its existing IP MAN with the leading network equipment and telecom technology with mature commercial experience.

Huawei Constructs Nationwide IP Bearer Network for China Netcom

China Network Communication Group Company ("China Netcom") declared in Beijing that Huawei will construct the core part of the nationwide IP bearer network for China Netcom. This project involves the products such as Quidway? NetEngine 5000E (NE5000E), Quidway NetEngine 80E (NE80E) core router, S8500 series high-end switch and firewall, and covers multiple provinces and prefectures in China.
